What follows is more background data on DAX folks and related items than you could possibly want, but it will  help you fully understand who’s who when you see someone’s name in an article. Also, here, we address ‘’where we’re coming from.’’ (Now, all we gotta do is figure out where we’re going to! Oh yes, I remember: Onwards and upwards!)

CAST OF CHARACTERS (Living, dead, actual and fictional)

DAXER: You, at this stage. A person possibly interested in learning more about what others have done and are doing to enhance their lifestyle through the auspices, help and encouragement of DAX and our worldwide affiliates. Best summed up: A person who embraces the DAX doctrine.  

DAX-DOER: Anyone who actually makes a definitive move towards creating whatever he or she feels will best be a means by which they can better their lot in life and enrich their Personal Success experience.

GENUINE DAX-DOER: Any person who, by their own actions and accomplishments, has proven themselves to be ‘’above the crowd’’ of mere wannabes. Though such a list would be extremely lengthy, we include as DAX-DOERS the likes of three living U.S. Presidents, plus five deceased ones, Erwin ‘’Magic’’ Johnson, Jeff  (You Might Be A Redneck If . . . ) Foxworthy, Jay Leno, Barbra Streisand, David Letterman, Bill Maher, Joan Rivers, Dennis Hopper, Cindy Adams, Cher, Bill Gates, Regis Philbin, Sandra Bullock, Randy Travis, Ann Coulter, Donald Trump and Larry King.

Not so well-known people comprise the greater number of genuine DAX-DOERS and though, you may have never heard the names, their good works precede them. Included: Barbara Gentlemoon, a cancer survivor who helps others cope - and the daughter of our first DAX International, Inc. President, John W. Lane . . . Daisy Marie Allabach, Dean’s older sister, who at 75, still devotes full time to helping the poor and downtrodden, as the founder and head of a nonprofit organization that supplies citizens of third world countries (at no cost of any kind to them) with needed hospital and related medical supplies they would otherwise not have. (She was awarded ‘’Alumni of the Year 2006′’ by the Michigan College where she graduated 36 years previously) . . . 

. . . plus, so many others of the aformentioned calibre that I realize we’d need a whole other website, if we were to list them all!  Really terrific men and women from all parts of the globe who, for years - in some cases, many decades - have exemplified themselves as living up to and in some cases, far beyond the DAX Dictum of ‘’extending a hand to the fellow below.’’

Dean F. V. Du Vall, Sr.: ‘’Chief DAX-DOER’’ since 1962 and author of virtually all written content emanating from both print and electronic DAX sources. Sometimes, he is referred to as ‘’ Ol’ DAX.’’

Dean F. V. Du Vall, Jr.: First born who was following in his father’s footsteps (of writing and publishing, changing wives now and then), but died unexpectedly soon after turning age 40. DFVD, Jr. was (posthumously) responsible for our on-going emphasis on the importance of avoiding deadly drugs and maintaining a super healthy lifestyle.

Derek Dax: Number one alter-ego of DFVD, and the protagonist in the Derek Dax adventure/mystery series: ‘’The Enchanted Cottage’’ and ‘’Class Prophecy: Murder!’’ Both are out of print - sorry!

du Vall: Number two alter ego of DFVD and internationally acclaimed Abstract Expressionist painter of such well-known works as, ‘’Big Bang,’’ ‘Nadir,’’  ‘’Impetus,’’ ‘’Lavender Haze,’’ ‘’Panache’’, ‘’Gado-Gado,’’ ‘’Sunu-Ki,’’ ’’Merganthaler’’ as well as numerous paintings that have been created for celebrities and investors including Roseanne Barr (’’P.M.S.’’), Cindy Adams (’’Movers & Shakers’’), Dennis Hopper (’’Whorhol’’), Jonathan Winters (’’Leaking Mind’’), Richard ‘’Ace’’ Faulk  (’’Philosophical Meanderings’’), the late Red Skelton (’’Clown Barf”’)  the late Vincent Price (’’Spectre Noir), plus many others who prefer to remain anonymous. Dominique Desiree (nee Du Vall) - A/K/A ‘’P.C.’’ Daughter with two children of her own: Brittany-Nicole (The ‘’Brit-Nic,’’ 16 - who is now eligible to drive her own new Audi automobile - YIKES!) and Stephen Louis, 13. P.C. is a bonafide DAX-DOER in her own right:

After a recent divorce, she went back to school and despite the rigors of having a large new house built, she is raising two children, and at age 36, became certified as a dental hygienist.

Hameed Noon: Late/great personal friend of Chief DAX-DOER. He was a world-renowned portrait painter and, as a favor, designed the famous DAX logo, and also executed a commission of an exquisite landscape for DFVD featuring a view of Lake Luzerne from the balcony of the famous medieval castle (now known as) The Hotel Guetsch.  You may view that painting at WWW.4-ArtSake.com 

Hameed also served as inspiration for the side kick, Kareem Khan, in the Derek DAX Adventure/Mystery duo, ‘’The Enchanted Cottage’’ and ‘’Class Prophecy: Murder!’’

John W. Lane: Long-time associate who started our overseas operation, DAX International in Hong Kong. In 1979 John flew from Japan to Washington to attend one of my all-day seminars.

Afterwards, he asked if I would consider selling him an interest in the overseas operation - to market DAX books, courses, cassette tape programs, etc. He stayed in Washington for a few days - I went back to Michigan and was about to leave for a trip to Los Angeles for the ABA (American Book Association) where my publisher, Lyle Stuart Inc., of New York, was launching MY first hard-cover novel, ‘’The Big Dream.’’ (Topic: Political intrigue at the highest echelons). Sorry, it’s no longer in print. In fact, an UNautographed copy of it recently sold on eBay for $143.00!

John said he had only a day left in the states, would I accept a quarter of a million dollars for that partial interest we had discussed, if he would fly to Michigan right then to clinch the deal? Hmmm . . . get on a plane and help launch a book competing against thousands of others in L.A. or . . . I took the $$$, and did not show up to use my paid-for ticket on American Airlines flight #191 . . . which crashed on take-off from O’Hare in Chicago killing all 271 passengers, plus a mother and child on the ground: The largest loss of life (to date) of any air disaster in America.

John was obviously an important figure in my life and remained so until his recent death. He was also on the Board of Directors of UNIDEN in Japan, had earlier founded the Midland Corporation (which made all those CB Radios that every trucker had years ago - maybe, they still do) plus, developed Eva Gabor’s (Zsa Zsa’s sister) successful wig business. John served as our first president of DAX International from 1978 until his passing in 2005 (at age 92).

Roger Dean Rose (1928 -2006): First significant (flesh and blood) mentor for DFVD when he was but a lad of 21. RDR instilled the importance of a sense of humor (in all situations) and the need to study, understand and implement a personal, healthy lifestyle.

Floyd & Marie: Our best friends of all in Southwest Michigan. Floyd single-handily built our private 1,050 acre lake in the 1970s and is a local legend. He will celebrate his 96th b-day this year, and with his wife Marie (she won’t let me tell her age!) have more energy, friends and influence in this part of the world than anyone else! They’ve earned it - and deserve it!

MOTH MANOR: My million-dollar 11,000 square foot ‘’Mansion On The Hill’’ (MOTH) which I designed, had built over an 18 month period requiring 252 craftsman and then, lived in for only a minute or two before getting divorced for the THIRD Time! I truly miss . . . not that wife, but the 5 car garage . . .

BLUE HERON POINTE: Our lake estate ON the aforementioned private lake where life is slow, sweet, easy, fragrant and 100% free of mosquitoes - and no one can tell us why that is, but . . . who cares?!

Others too numerous to detail . . . but you will see them come in and out of our mutual sphere of activities from time to time and then, we’ll attempt to explain their individual importance.
